Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
BJJ revolves around the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a larger, stronger, heavier opponent using leverage and weight distribution, taking the fight to the ground, and utilizing a series of holds and submissions to defeat them. BJJ training can be used for sports fighting and self-defense situations. Sparring, commonly known as "rolling" within the BJJ community, and live drilling play an important role in the training and development of the practitioner. BJJ can also be used as a method to promote physical fitness, develop character, and as a way of life.
